F.A.Q.

In what country will your wedding be held?
 - England

Who will give away the bride?
- The mother of the bride

I have received a "Save The Date" e-mail or notice from you, does that mean I am invited to the wedding?
- Not necessarily. Unless we have specifically asked you to attend the wedding as a guest, the "save the date" only means that you should be aware of the date of the wedding. Those who are invited will get individual invites in the mail.

Have you sent out the invitations yet?
- Yes, we have started sending out invitations now but we need to chase some people up about their addresses

Have all those who are invited to the ceremony also been invited to the reception?
- No. Although all those invited to the ceremony are also invited to join us for the evening celebration, only some are invited to the reception as well. Your invites will specifically say what you have been invited to.

I am travelling from abroad, what dates should I buy my tickets for and when is a good time to buy tickets?
- We recommend you buy tickets as soon as you have received a formal invitation, either by phone or by mail. The tickets should be bought for the 6th-9th of October, however this depends on your own wishes and circumstances. Just remember that the wedding is on October 8th.
Which papers do I need in order to travel to England?
- If you are travelling from countries in the EU or EEA you will only need your passport and ticket.

- If you are travelling from countries outside the EU/EEA (i.e. Russia), you will need a travel passport with a visa (заграничный паспорт с действуюшей визой). Make sure that your passport is valid (i.e. the date has not run out). To get a tourist visa you need to contact us so that we can arrange one for you in time. You will find more information on this in my post "Важная информация для гостей из России"
What should I wear?
- Men: Smart, 2-piece suits. Not white and not pink :p
- Women: Elegant but comfortable, again not white and minimum amounts of pink

Will owls really be delivering the invites?
- No, sorry to inform you, but they are currently on strike as they complained about the quality of jelly babies they were being fed. They demanded a better standard and that the flavours were rotated. I said no, the Owl Union got involved, it got nasty, feathers flew, beaks were pecked, and long story short, the owls won. Hoot hoot indeed
